Why Recycle?

 

 
  • More than 3 quarts of oil are used to produce each laser cartridge. The plastic used in each printer cartridge takes more than 10 centuries (that's 1000 years!) to decompose.
  • 25 million printer cartridges go to land fills each month.
  • Toner cartridge remanufacturing saves over 38,000 tons of plastic and metal from landfills.

 

As a part of the Univeristy of Kentucky's recycling initiative, Managed Print Services has teamed up with PPD and the Recycling Office to
ensure all possible efforts are made to dispose of all empty toner cartridges and excess waste in an efficient manner. Click here to fill out an online form for all empty toner cartridges to be picked up onsite or send an email to Recycle@uky.edu
