A great university
demonstrates the seriousness of its commitment to gender equity by offering
a full range of opportunities for women’s participation and advancement
in all segments and at all levels of institutional life. UK must:
- Establish and fund
a standing Presidential Commission on the Status of Women.
- Complete a comprehensive
evaluation of the new staff personnel system to identify and remedy
any sex-related inequities or biases by 2003.
- Increase significantly
the number of women in the highest administrative leadership positions
(Vice-presidents, Chancellors, Vice-Chancellors, Deans).
- Review staff and
faculty evaluation systems to ensure equity in performance assessments
regardless of sex, race, family status, or sexual orientation.
