A great university
provides expansive opportunities for job development and career advancement
for women. UK must:
- Ensure that Human
Resource programs for faculty and staff supervisors require demonstrated
competence in the effective recruitment, hiring, promotion, and retention
of women.
- Strengthen leadership
skills in women employees by expanding UKadvance and developing a comparable
program for women faculty interested in academic administration.
- Include more women
in institutional decision-making processes through the equitable representation
of women on all policy-making bodies, search committees, and as chairs
of standing university and Senate committees, and ad hoc task forces.
- Create an elected,
representative, University Staff Council comparable to the University
Faculty Senate.
