LEA Protein Interactors (LEAPin) Project Summary

Overview History Project Summary

A Phylogenetic tree of Arabidopsis and Soybean LEA protein families, including splice variants affecting the protein sequence. Presumptive pairs of LEA protein homologs are circled in each family. Green, bold type, SMP homologs have been shown to bind several Arabidopsis Endogenous Client Proteins (ECPs) in common. Orange circled homologs are being tested where the Arabidopsis member is known to bind AtPHYTOCHROME INTERACTING FACTOR1 (AtPIF1). Red circled pairs will be tested in this NSF project, expanded to pan a soybean Phage display library over all homologous pairs. The location of AT1G72100 in PFAM LEA_5 differs from Hundertmark, M. and D.K. Hincha. 2008. LEA (Late Embryogenesis Abundant) proteins and their encoding genes in Arabidopsis thaliana. Bmc Genomics,  9., where it is in LEA_4. (This Cladogram in PDF format is easier to read.)
