Human-Centered Design | May 10 - July 2, 2021
With Jim Potvin, PhD, CCPE

The design of environments, tools, systems, and interfaces can have a dramatic impact on exposures associated with musculoskeletal disorders, fatigue, and error. Familiarity with physical and cognitive HF/E will be applied to the iterative design process to solve design problems. You will also explore methods to assess the cost-benefit of ergonomic design changes and various proactive design options, and will provide a detailed explanation of factors to consider when designing an office environment and computer workstation. Finally, you will consider engineering methods used to optimize workplace design and determine how to successfully inject ergonomics into the process.
