Upcoming Zoonotic Pathogens Seminar with the Western Center for Ag Health & Safety

Date:
Monday, May 2, 2022 - 7:00pm to 8:00pm

The Western Center for Agricultural Health and Safety (WCAHS) at UC Davis invites you to our upcoming seminar on Monday, May 2 at 4 p.m. PST.

Join us for a presentation from special guests, Professor Rob Atwill, Ph.D. and Ph.D. candidate Jennifer Chase from the School of Veterinary Medicine at UC Davis, and their presentation: Occupational patterns of acute exposure to zoonotic pathogens occurring among California dairy farm workers.

This presentation will characterize how specific occupational tasks conducted by dairy farm workers, combined with common worker behaviors like touching your face, result in acute personal exposure to a variety of fecal zoonotic pathogens shed by California dairy cattle. This pattern of exposure provides a detailed map for how to target improved administrative and engineering controls for reducing zoonotic disease risk for dairy farm workers.

Spanish interpretation will be provided for this presentation.

WHEN: Monday, May 2, 4:00 – 5:00 p.m.

WHERE: Online via Zoom Webinar (registration is required to join)
