Interim General Education Oversight Committee (IGEOC)

Policy Statements
Colleagues: Part of the responsibility of the Interim General Education Oversight Committee (IGEOC) is to draft and submit suggested general education policy language to the Senate Council. IGEOC has been painstakingly drafting such language as the need to do so surfaced during the recent months of course vetting and approval. The Senate Council established the legitimacy of these policies on May 2, 2011 with a motion that was then presented to the full Senate on May 9th. The approved motion reads as follows:

Motion from SC: “that IGEOC be allowed and encouraged to formulate policies during its term, that it report such policies to the SC, and that at the end of its term, propose to the SC and Senate which of its interim policies should be codified as part of the Senate Rules.”
