Admissions decisions for the program are made on a rolling basis until the program is full or the program application deadline is reached. Students from all majors are encouraged to apply! 

The selection committee considers the following factors when making admissions decisions: completed application, cover letter, resume, transcript, one letter of recommendation from a UK faculty member and interview with the selection committee. Applicants should send all materials to wildcatsintern@uky.edu. (Note: The faculty member should send the letter of recommendation directly to wildcatsintern@uky.edu.) The selection committee will contact selected candidates for an interview.

The following dates are approximate and may shift slightly given the academic calendar. The committee will continue to accept applications (beyond the deadline) until all placements are made.

For placement during the Fall Semester 2024:

Applications Due - May 31, 2024

Interviews - As scheduled, first week of June

Placement - June/July 

Orientations - August

For placement during the Spring Semester 2025:

Applications Due - September 23, 2024

Interviews - As scheduled, last week of September/first week of October

Placement - October/November

Orientations - November/December

For placement during the Summer Semester 2025:

Applications Due - January 31, 2025

Interviews - As scheduled, through February

Placement - February through April

Orientations - End of April

*Please note, our summer session is more competitive and therefore more student driven in obtaining placements for internships.
