Introduction to TFTA

Tobacco-free Take Action!

When the Tobacco-free policy began in November 2009, a group of ambassadors organized to help enforce and inform individuals on campus of the new policy. As the program grew, our team evolved to undertake more tasks to help increase education and awareness of our policy.

Join Tobacco-free Take Action!, a team of student employees who are committed to improving compliance with our tobacco-free policy. You will be trained in proper approaches for reminding and reporting violators. Additionally, you will help educate the public at tabling events and work on health advocacy with different stakeholders on campus. Ambassadors are also working to put a stop to the use of e-cigarettes on our campus by promoting support services like Nicotine Replacement Therapy.

Getting involved in Tobacco-free Take Action! is a great way to serve the UK community. Want to help out or volunteer for any tobacco-free events on campus? Are you interested in being trained in scripting techniques to approach violators of the tobacco-free policy? Please message us with your contact information here.
