Action Item 2:3 A centralized, online training and knowledge base for technology should be established by ITS, in collaboration withHumanResourcesTrainingandDevelopment, theDisabilityResourceCenter,CELT,collegeanddepartment IT staff, and the Office of Faculty Advancement. The center should be designed for, marketed to, and adopted by students, faculty, and staff. A definitive knowledge gap has been identified with incoming students, returning students, faculty, and staff regardingtechnologyusageandknowledgeofITresourcesavailable.Itisinefficientandimpracticalforindividuals, departments, and colleges to develop technology training resources when the audience that could utilize these trainings is much broader than any one student, faculty member, department, or college. The ITS website should be modified to reflect available services more clearly and feature an easily accessible link to the knowledge base. Establishing the knowledge base will allow for centrally located, online technology based courses, tutorials (written, audio, and video), instructions, FAQs, best practices, and articles (e.g., educational, how-to, help). After establishment, this knowledge base should be community lead and curated with pages featuring an integrated rating system to assess quality, helpfulness, and accuracy monitored by ITS. In addition, ITS should seek further guidance from students, faculty, staff, and implementation partners on creative marketing techniques to increase adoption of the center. 13 | EmpoweringTransformation RECOMMENDATION 2: TEACHING AND LEARNING ENABLEMENT The University should develop and enhance IT resources that are widely and effectively used by faculty in teaching to improve students’ academic performance.
