OTS 884 Introduction to Qualitative Research
Description:
This three credit course is an introduction to the rationale, theoretical foundations, design, methods, analysis, and ethical issues related to conducting qualitative research. Students will compare and contrast five approaches of qualitative inquiry, and will develop a research proposal based on one of the approaches.
Format:
This course will be held on three Saturdays, with ten weekly online modules using Blackboard. Saturday sessions will be held at Eastern Kentucky University, Dizney Building. Mandatory Saturday sessions will be from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm on 1/29/11, 3/26/11, and 4/23/11.

Registration for UK Rehabilitation Science Program Doctoral Students:
For this course, you will have to register as a visiting student through Eastern Kentucky University. Apply to the EKU graduate school using the online form athttp://www.gradschool.eku.edu/apply/default.php. You will need to note on the application that you are a UK RHB doctoral student and pay a $35 application fee. Once your application and fee have been received, you will be mailed a Visiting Student Certificate that must be signed by the UK Graduate School Dean, imprinted with the UK seal, and mailed back. Once that has been received you will be notified that you have Visiting Student status and will be able to register for class. Please note that registration must be completed two weeks before the start of classes on January 10, so start the registration process as early as possible.
