As the Director of Graduate Studies for your department, you may know of qualified graduate students not yet receiving fellowships who would be appropriate candidates for the following position in my office.  I would appreciate your assistance in forwarding this announcement.

The Proposal Development Office (PDO) is an administrative unit serving University of Kentucky Research that assists faculty and staff seek and secure external funding for their scholarly activities.  PDO is looking for a qualified graduate student to join the PDO team.

Areas of emphasis under grants and contracts administration include information acquisition and dissemination, funding searches, workshop material preparation, program evaluation, and special projects as needed.  Working in this office will give the student an opportunity to learn about federal and private funding programs and ways in which UK faculty and staff support their research and scholarly activities through external grants, contracts, and fellowships.

We are interested in hiring someone to begin as soon as possible and continue through the 2014 spring semester.  The time commitment is 20 hours per week, preferably worked in 4-hour blocks daily Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.  A detailed job description is attached.  This position includes a stipend and payment of the fall and spring semester tuition, health insurance and the health fee.
