Hi everyone! My name is Alexis James and I’m a senior from Chicago, IL. I’m majoring in Human Health Sciences on the pre-med track with a minor in biology. In the past I’ve served as a peer mentor for IHRC Living Learning Program, a coordinator for Student Government Association, and a student in the SPARK program through UK’s Center for Health Equity.
Currently, I serve as the Vice President of Internal Affairs for Student Activities Board, a member of UK’s NAACP, and as an undergraduate researcher in the College of Medicine in addition to being a CHS peer ambassador. Outside of school, I love to sing, cook, travel, and indulge in anything beauty!
The College of Health Sciences has afforded me so many opportunities and I’m excited to be able to give back to the college and the greater Lexington community. I can’t wait to get to meet more prospective students and help them see all that CHS can offer! Please feel free to reach out whenever!
Tip for incoming freshman: Always follow your passions even if its not your traditional “resume builder.” Some of the most rewarding experiences can come from unorthodox paces!
