Scholarships and Financial Aid

The College of Health Sciences has scholarships available only to students who have been admitted to one of the professional programs. Once admitted to a professional program, students will be notified of all scholarships available to you during your professional career. Graduate/Professional application deadline is April 3rd, 2017. Notification will be via email by your individual program director.

Below are some useful links for freshmen, transfer students, and general undergraduate students at UK.

*Applications open February 1st, 2017. The Undergraduate deadline to apply is March 12, 2017 at 11:59 PM.  The Graduate/Professional deadline to apply is April 2, 2017 at 11:59 PM.   Please note: Students, if you have been admitted to a CHS program, you are eligible. 


College of Health Sciences Professional Student Scholarships

The College of Health Sciences has a limited number of scholarships available to students in the College at large; many are also available through divisions. Please see their sites for more information. Below is a sample of what is offered within the college as a whole:

Academic Excellence Scholarship: These are awarded to students who have completed a minimum of 12 credit hours in our college. Announcements will be made in the Spring and awarded for the following academic year.

Ambassador Scholarship: Applicants must have completed at least 12 hours at UK and have a minimum cumulative UK GPA of 3.5 or better by the end of the Spring 2016 term. We also consider leadership in college extracurricular activities, honors, special interests, outside-of-the-classroom activities, work experience and how you have contributed to the UK community (essay question).

Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital Fellowship: This award rotates on a two year cycle between CSD & PT. For the 2016-2017 academic year, this award is for a Communication Sciences & Disorders student. Preference is given to a student who is doing one of their clinical rotations at Cardinal Hill Rehab Hospital.

CHS Technology Scholarship: Applicants must be admitted and enrolled full time in any CHS program and in good academic standing per the terms of academic program. We also consider demonstrated urgent or financial need, and expect a completed essay discussing either “Innovating Health Sciences with Technology” or “Being a Student in the Digital Age.”

Diversity Enhancement Scholarship: Available to any full-time student who represents diversity of thought, culture, gender, race, ethnicity or are underrepresented in the health professions. Announcements will be made in the Spring and awarded for the following academic year.

Fellowships: These are awarded by the faculty to incoming and continuing students. Students may not apply for these and will be informed if they should be awarded a Fellowship. See program directors for more information.

Golf Scramble Scholarship: These are awarded to undergraduate, graduate or professional students who are currently admitted to any division in the UK College of Health Sciences and have completed at least 12 semester hours in the college with a cumulative program GPA of 3.4 and maintain a UK GPA of 3.5 or better while receiving this award.

Rockcastle Hospital & Respiratory Care Center Fellowship: This award rotates annually among PA, MLS, CSD & PT. For 2016-2017 academic year, this award is for a Medical Laboratory Science student. Preference is given to a student who is doing one of their clinical rotations at the Rockcastle Hospital.

Thomas C. Robinson Graduate Fellowship: This award rotates on a two year cycle between PA, CSD, PT, AT Clinical Nutrition, & Rehab Sciences. For 2016-2017 academic year, this award is for an Athletic Training student. Student must have a 3.5 GPA in graduate coursework.

Wright Scholarship: Applicants must have completed at least 12 hours at UK and have at least a cumulative UK GPA of 3.5 or better by the end of the Spring 2015 term.

Please note: Students, if you have been admitted to a CHS program, you are eligible. Students should note that completion of this online form makes them eligible to be considered for all Health Sciences scholarships.
