Dr. Kuperstein joined the faculty in the summer of 1996. She received her B.S. in P.T. from the State University of New York - Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, and did graduate work in Human Genetics at the Medical College of Virginia. She received her M.S.Ed. in Clinical and College Teaching with an emphasis in Health Care Administration and her Ph.D. in Gerontology from the University of Kentucky. She also serves as the Administrative Liaison to the Center for Rural Health Academic Program.

Dr. Kuperstein has experience as a PT in a variety of clinical environments including pediatrics, hospice, and acute care. She also served in several health care administrative positions, including as Chief Operating Officer of an acute care hospital.
She is active in the profession as faculty for PROBE - Problem Based Ethics Remediation for Health Professionals and as the Kentucky Physical Therapy Association's Liaison to the Kentucky Board of Physical Therapy, She is also active in her faith community and serves at the Faculty Advisor for Hillel at UK.
