Dr. Kimberly I. Tumlin’s purpose is to advance the asset-based resilience in populations with trauma histories. Her research at the Center for Innovation in Population Health builds on the growing evidence that development of strengths outcomes contributes to transformative healing in specialized populations including Indigenous communities, persons with disabilities, and those with neurodivergent conditions. In July 2023, Dr. Tumlin established the Equine-Assisted Collaborative for Health (EACHpartner.org) to create a space joining people and data together for understanding the impact of equine-assisted practices on the lives of people. In addition, as the Director for Research for the Equestrian Athlete Initiative in the UK Sports Medicine Research Institute she combines her lifelong equestrianism to research concussion recovery, access to athletic training care, and mental health in equestrian sport.
