When Emma King was in the fifth grade, she told her father that she wanted to play basketball for the University of Kentucky.
That dream came true. And now, as she heads into her senior year with tonight’s Big Blue Madness, she’s preparing for one last ride with the team she loves — while readying for life after sports, too.

Lucy Bowers didn’t always want to be a Physician Assistant.
First, she wanted to be a teacher, like her mother, and then maybe an orthopedic surgeon, like the one who helped nurse her back to health after a slew of sports injuries.

There was, at least, one thing Marie Belli was excited about as she walked to her first-ever college class Monday morning.
“I mean — I found it,” she said, laughing. “I’m here.”

Emily Martin could barely contain her excitement.
“I’m most excited about being in a new city with new opportunities,” said the 17-year-old from Smiths Grove, Ky. “All the while being able to further my education and get closer to having my dream job.”
