It is that time of year again, when the U.S. News & World Report comes out with its annual list of the best jobs in the country, and once again, Physician Assistant and Physical Therapist are at the top of the list.

Here at the CHS News Desk, we thought it might be fun to run down the stories that received the most clicks and views from 2022. As we reviewed them, we saw exactly why they garnered so much attention. Some made us laugh and cry. Some inspired. Some were just important and informed us.

No matter the topic, each one made it crystal clear: Last year was a big and important time for the College of Health Sciences

It’s National Allied Health Professions Week, or as some call it, National Allied Health Week, where we celebrate all that is wonderful about the Allied Health Professions. There will be lectures and seminars, mental health resources and helpful tips on how to live a healthier life.

Dyeshia Parrott was just 12 when the accident happened.

She was riding in the car with her family when the vehicle hit a patch of black ice and crashed. While others suffered only minor injuries, Dyeshia was left with a severed spinal cord that resulted in her being paralyzed from the waist down.

That was 12 years ago.

The 2022 CHS Student Awards was a feel-good, end-of-the-year celebration of achievement held in the Worsham Cinema in the Gatton Student Center.

"Today is about our students," CHS Dean Scott Lephart, PhD, told the crowd. "This is an exciting time to celebrate."
