UK PA Residency in Critical Care in the College of Health Sciences is designed to provide experience in both medical and surgical critical care. It will provide residents the opportunity to broaden their experience in medical ICUs and various surgery subspecialties.
Acute Care Surgery | UK Healthcare
The program is one year in duration and contains didactic instruction woven throughout 12 months of supervised clinical rotations. The structured didactic curriculum contains different methods of instruction including lectures, grand rounds, on-line modules, utilization of the simulation lab at UK, etc. The PA Acute Care Surgery Resident will also be required to provide instruction to current PA students. Clinical rotations might occur in the following areas: Critical Care (Surgical and Medical), Trauma, Emergency Medicine, Neurosurgery, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Anesthesia, and Elective(s).
Hospital Medicine | UK Healthcare
UK PA Residency in Hospital Medicine in the College of Health Sciences is designed to provide experience in Internal Medicine care in the hospital setting. It will provide residents the opportunity to train in the hospital and manage chronic and acute patients.
Neurology | UK Healthcare
UK Neurology PA Academic Residency in the College of Health Sciences is designed to provide experience in adult neurology care in the outpatient and hospital settings. It will provide residents the opportunity to train in manage chronic and acute patients.
Surgery | Baptist, Lexington
The program would be one year in duration and contains didactic instruction woven throughout 12 months of supervised clinical rotations. The structured didactic curriculum contains different methods of instruction including lectures, grand rounds, on-line modules, utilization of the simulation lab at UK, etc. The PA Surgery Resident would also be required to provide instruction to current PA students. Clinical rotations will occur in the following areas: General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, GYN, Plastics, and Elective(s).
General Surgery | Baptist East, Louisville
The program would be one year in duration and contains didactic instruction woven throughout 12 months of supervised clinical rotations. The structured didactic curriculum contains different methods of instruction including lectures, grand rounds, on-line modules, utilization of the simulation lab, etc. The PA Academic General Surgery Resident would also be required to provide instruction to current PA Master students. Clinical services will occur in the following areas: General Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Neurosurgery, Emergency Surgery, Surgical ICU, and Elective.
Cardiac Surgery | Baptist East, Louisville
The program would be one year in duration and contains didactic instruction woven throughout 12 months of supervised clinical rotations. The structured didactic curriculum contains different methods of instruction including lectures, grand rounds, on-line modules, utilization of the simulation lab, etc. The PA Academic Cardiac Surgery Resident would also be required to provide instruction to current PA Master students. Clinical services will occur in the following areas: Cardiac Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, Vascular Surgery, out patient clinic, cardiac ICU, and Elective. On these services the PA resident will do pre, Intra, post op, rounding, procedures, pre surgery work up and follow up clinical visits.

UK PA Academic Cardiology Residency in the College of Health Sciences based at King’s Daughters Hospital is designed to provide experience in Cardiology both in the hospital and outpatient settings.
