Baptist Heath Louisville Track in Cardiac Surgery

This track is an opportunity for the PA the gain exceptional operative experience in the field of cardiac and CT surgery. The PA resident’s operative time with focus on cardiac surgery, though there is opportunity for elective surgery rotations in other areas of surgery. The majority of the resident’s time is spent in the OR as one of the only learning providers on the service. The PA resident will also provide pre, intra, and post op care, as well as rounding, procedures, and outpatient clinic. By the end of the year, the resident will be prepared to assist in cardiac surgical specialties.

  • Excellent patient volume and variety of cases
  • Private hospital with more individualized learning opportunities
  • Ample operating room time and experience available
