On Thursday, May 18, the College of Health Sciences came out for an end of the year celebration at the Longship Club at Kroger Field.
It was a celebratory kind of day as the College of Health Sciences honored its own faculty and staff at a luncheon Thursday morning.
"I'd like to acknowledge all the faculty and staff for all you've done to support our mission in the College," said Karen Badger, PhD, MSW and Associate Dean of Academic Affairs and Undergraduate Education for CHS.
Last week, students, faculty and alumni from the College of Health Sciences Center for Muscle Biology (CMB) attended the Advances in Skeletal Muscle Biology in Health and Disease Conference.
The conference, held at the University of Florida, gave the opportunity for professionals to discuss advancements and research in skeletal muscle biology.

For professors in the College of Health Sciences, they have a luxury some others could only hope for.
They are utilizing their undergraduate students to help with their research.
Join Dr. David J. Glass at 1 p.m. Thursday in CTW 127 as he visits the College of Health Sciences to present a "Special Seminar on Experimental Design."
"The University of Kentucky has long had an excellent group focusing on skeletal muscle research," says Glass, Vice President, Research-Aging/Age-Related Disorders, and Director, Postdoctoral Fellow Program at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, a biotechnology company headquartered in Westchester County, New York. "So it’s a pleasure to come here and compare notes.”
