The construction phase of the new University of Kentucky Health Education Building was approved Friday by the UK Board of Trustees.

The $380 million project was authorized by the 2022 Kentucky General Assembly and the design phase was approved by the Board of Trustees in May 2021.

Two young investigators from the College of Health Sciences have recently received highly competitive K-award funding from the National Institutes of Health for their research, reports Esther Dupont-Versteegden, PhD and professor in Physical Therapy, as well as Director for the Center for Muscle Biology.

The two investigators are: Kirby Mayer, DPT, PhD and Yuan Wen, MD, PhD.

For decades, Terry Malone has been saying this to his colleagues, his students and his friends. It has become symbolic of the way he has approached his career.

On Thursday, May 18, the College of Health Sciences came out for an end of the year celebration at the Longship Club at Kroger Field.

It was a celebratory kind of day as the College of Health Sciences honored its own faculty and staff at a luncheon Thursday morning. 

"I'd like to acknowledge all the faculty and staff for all you've done to support our mission in the College," said Karen Badger, PhD, MSW and Associate Dean of Academic Affairs and Undergraduate Education for CHS.

The University of Kentucky and the College of Health Sciences allowed — and helped — Katelyn McNamara, PT, DPT, and Renee Kinder, MS, CCC-SLP, RAC-CT, to become who they wanted to be.
