Admissions Processes

Applicants to the University of Kentucky Professional Athletic Training Program must have completed (or intend to complete prior to admissions) the pre-requisite courses and meet the Program’s competitive admissions requirements in order to be considered for admission into the academic program.

The Program Admissions Committee will review all applications that meet the minimum criteria described on the Program Admissions page on an on-going and rolling basis. Final admissions status will be determined after the interview process is complete. Applicants not selected will be encouraged to apply in subsequent years.

Selection Criteria for Admissions

Applicants will be reviewed on a rolling basis. After the application materials have been reviewed, recommended applicants will be invited for an on-campus (or electronic if necessary) interview.

We will typically have two rounds of interviews, one round in the late Fall and the second in early Spring. Additional interviews will be scheduled as needed.

Students will be expected to accept or decline their spot in the Program and pay a non-refundable $150 seat fee no more than 10 business days after notification of acceptance into the Program. The seat fee will be applied to the first semester student fees.

Nondiscrimination Policy

The University of Kentucky is committed to a policy of providing educational opportunities to all academically qualified students regardless of economic or social status and will not discriminate on the basis of race, color, ethnic origin, national origin, creed, religion, political belief, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, pregnancy, marital status, genetic information, age, veteran status or physical or mental disability. The University of Kentucky is an equal opportunity University. We encourage applications from all academically qualified people interested in educational opportunities.

Transfer of Credit Policy

The Professional Master of Science in Athletic Training Program will not accept transfer of credits.
